The Sekhon family proudly purchased Sekhon & Sons Nursery in 2021. Rajveer Dhillon, president, and owner, grew up in British Columbia in his family's orchard in the Okanagan Valley. He attended the University of British Columbia (UBC), obtaining his Civil Engineering degree in 2015 After 35 years of Cherry farming, the family decided to take their love of agriculture and Rajveer's talents as an engineer to move from their hometown and buy an existing nursery in the beautiful mountain backdrop valley of Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Since then, they have been working hard to renovate and modernize this 90-acre nursery. Specializing in on-site propagation, Sekhon & Sons Nursery grows a wide range of native plants, specimen trees, shrubs, and perennials. we are dedicated to growing healthy plants that are grown with consideration of the wildlife that lives here and keeping our pollinators safe by reducing chemical use on our crops. We are working hard to modernize our practices and grow beautiful plants for your landscape needs.
In the late 1970s, the Christie family started propagating landscape plants specializing in ground covers and then moving into roses. In 1987 Pierre Piroche bought a section of the property and began Piroche Plants with a vision to introduce British Columbia to rare plants and trees from around the world. He became a leader in introducing new plant introductions and creating a rare collection of plant material from Asia.
Our future vision and goals at Sekhon & Sons Nursery are growing our plant stock from start to finish. With a wide range of plants that are grown under the care of our master propagator and a team of horticulturists. Whether from seed, cuttings, dividing, or grafting, we will ensure our future landscape plants are grown with the right conditions needed for all our different varieties. We use the best soil mediums and target all the nutritional needs of our specific crops. As well as considering the environmental impact we leave behind.
The Sekhon family and their knowledgeable, dedicated staff will continue to grow a wide range of plant materials for our valued customers. We are looking forward to a long successful future in the horticulture industry.
